Description

A journey through Bolivia’s birthplace cities. Travel winding mountain roads with shifting landscapes; visit Sucre, the White City; pass through Potosí with its rich mining legacy; marvel at the Uyuni Salt Flats and the world’s highest lake; and ride the legendary Death Road in La Paz. An adventure like no other.

Day 1.- Arrival in Cochabamba

Early in the morning you’ll arrive in the valley city of Cochabamba. A bus will pick you up and take you to your hotel in one of the best areas of the city. By mid-morning, we’ll head to the Andino Experience offices, where you’ll receive your welcome pack and we’ll begin the trip briefing.

Cochabamba is the perfect city to acclimatize. We are at 1,600 m (5,250 ft) above sea level and will climb even higher. Are you ready?

Day 2.- Cochabamba – Sucre 337Km

The adventure begins! We leave early for Sucre, Bolivia’s White City and capital. Ride through Cochabamba’s valleys, climb into the mountains, and by midday arrive in Sucre to explore historic landmarks, savor traditional flavors, and stay in heritage-rich hotels.

Day 3.- Sucre – Cayara 180km

Set out early for Potosí as the landscape transforms, today’s ride takes you into the Bolivian highlands. Cruise through stunning mountains and open roads before reaching Potosí (4,090 m / 13,420 ft) mid-morning to tour a key Bolivian museum and savor a traditional lunch. Then ride on to Cayara, just 15 km away, for a magical overnight stay rich in history.

Day 4.- Cayara – Uyuni 236km

The adventure continues. Early in the morning, we’ll visit Bolivia’s oldest hydroelectric plant, then head toward the magical Uyuni Salt Flats. We’ll enjoy a peaceful afternoon at one of the best hotels in the area—rest well, because tomorrow will be a full day to discover this earthly wonder.

Day 5.- Uyuni and surroundings. 150 Km

Start the day with a hearty breakfast and head straight into the vast salt flats. Explore islands, salt sculptures, and monuments, enjoy a scenic lunch at the heart of the salar, and marvel at one of the region’s most breathtaking sunsets. Finish the day unwinding at the hotel for a restful night.

Day 6.- Uyuni – Copacabana 656km

We continue toward the world’s highest lake, the famous Lake Titicaca. We’ll ride across Bolivia’s high plateau, passing through Oruro—home of Bolivia’s renowned carnival—and the city of El Alto, located at 4,150 m (13,615 ft) above sea level. Finally, we head to Copacabana and ride along the shores of Lake Titicaca, where your hotel awaits right by the water.

Dia 7.- Full Day Titicaca Lake

Wake early to stunning lake views, then cruise across the world’s highest lake to Isla del Sol and Isla de la Luna. Savor fresh trout on the floating islands and spend the afternoon exploring the town’s many attractions.

Day 8.- Copacabana – Coroico 247km

Enjoy one last breathtaking sunrise and get ready to cross from the highlands to the tropical forest on the way to Coroico. You’ll get a taste of La Paz’s lively traffic before we climb to 4,500 m (14,764 ft) and then descend to Coroico, a town perched high in the mountains. And don’t forget—have your camera ready as you ride the famous Death Road. Once in Coroico, take time to enjoy the town and its surroundings.

Day 9.- Coroico – La Paz 120km

We set out for La Paz, but not before getting to know some of the local wildlife at one of the region’s most important refuges. Are you ready to discover La Paz? The ride is short, but the traffic is quite an experience. You’ll cross the entire city from north to south before reaching your hotel.

Day 10.- Full day La Paz 30km

Discover one of Bolivia’s wonder cities. Fly above it on the cable car, stroll through streets filled with handicrafts and striking architecture, and savor a gourmet traditional meal that will leave you impressed—you’ll wonder why you didn’t come sooner.

Day 11.- La Paz – Cochabamba 380km

Spend your last moments in La Paz before returning to Cochabamba. Enjoy a final ride across the Bolivian highlands, then descend into the lush Cochabamba valleys to conclude this unforgettable journey. End the adventure with a festive farewell dinner before bidding goodbye to this remarkable country.
