Itinerary
Day 1.- Arrival to Cochabamba
Arrive early in Cochabamba, known as the valley city. A bus will pick you up and transfer you to a hotel in one of the city’s finest neighborhoods. By mid-morning, we’ll head to the Andino Xperience offices, where you’ll receive your welcome pack and we’ll begin the trip briefing.
Cochabamba is the ideal place to acclimatize, as we are at 1,600 meters (5,250 ft) above sea level and will later descend to 700 meters. You’ll enjoy the warm tropical climate of Bolivia’s eastern lowlands. Are you ready?
Day 2.- Cochabamba – Samaipata 420 Km
The adventure begin! We depart early in the morning for Samaipata. Right from the start, climb into the mountains and take in stunning scenery, with rivers and deep ravines all around you. Gradually, the valleys give way to lush greenery as you ascend to Samaipata, a charming mountain town where a distinctive hotel awaits.
Day 3.- Full day Samaipata 30km
Discover Samaipata in depth. Enjoy a good breakfast, because today you’ll immerse yourself in the area’s nature and history. We will visit the Samaipata Fort, discover the region’s typical vineyards, explore Amboró National Park, and cool off in natural waterfalls. Of course, no visit is complete without savoring the exquisite local cuisine.
Day 4.- Samaipata – Santa Cruz 130km
Get ready, because the temperature rises as we head toward Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Gradually, the mountains disappear as we reach Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia’s largest city. Santa Cruz blends culture, nature, and fine cuisine, offering an unforgettable experience in this South American hidden gem. Spend the afternoon exploring and soaking up the vibrant charm of the city.
Day 5.- Santa Cruz – San José de Chiquitos
The Bolivian lowlands call for an early start as today’s adventure takes you to the historic Jesuit missions. San José de Chiquitos, famed for its serene ambiance, invites you to explore one of the Chiquitanía’s oldest Jesuit missions.
Day 6.- San José de Chiquitos – Roboré – San José de Chiquitos 380 km
While in Bolivia’s eastern lowlands, don’t miss the Chiquitano circuit, featuring Chochis, Roboré, and the hot springs of Aguas Calientes. Be captivated by a landscape where colonial architecture merges seamlessly with nature, and the vivid colors of local culture leave you amazed. Remember to pack your swimsuit.
Day 7.- San José de Chiquitos – Concepción
The Chiquitano circuit is ready to welcome us. Today we’ll travel and visit several of its charming destinations on our way to Concepción, one of the most traditional towns when it comes to Jesuit missions. The scenery and rich vegetation reveal the true immensity of Bolivia.
Day 8.- Concepción – Buena Vista 315 km
We say goodbye to the Jesuit missions, but there are still a few more to discover. Today is an adventure day: we’ll cross river ferries on our way to Buena Vista, where we’ll enter Bolivia’s famous tropics.
Day.- 9 Cochabamba Full Day
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in the beautiful city of Cochabamba, exploring everything the Cochabamba valley has to offer.
